Kiss collects for the O'Dwyers Teenage Kiss bagged a deserved breakthrough success when landing the Ambrex Switchgear Handicap Hurdle at Wexford for Conor O’Dwyer. The Walk In The Park mare was partnered by the trainer’s son Charlie and was produced to lead going to the final flight in the three-miler. The 5/1 shot stayed on well in the closing stages to post a two-and-a-half length winning margin over owner JP McManus’ other runner Watching The Clock. “She had a couple of good runs but was disappointing here the last day. She was only beaten 11 lengths but didn’t run any type of race and didn’t threaten at any stage,” said the winning trainer. “She’s a Walk In The Park mare and they aren’t straightforward. She enjoyed the step up in trip and everything went well. “Charlie was good on her, they went a nice gallop and he gave her a chance. She travelled really sweetly and maybe the step up in trip helped. “I wouldn’t mind jumping a fence with her. She’s a great mare to leap. It was nice to get that one out of her anyway. “JP is a great supporter of ours, and of Charlie’s, and to get a winner for him is very sweet.”
