Knight Set For Fighting Chance

Connections of Blythe Knight have pinpointed Newcastle's WBX.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle on December 1 as a probable starting point for the seven-year-old this season.

Smart on the level, the son of Selkirk improved to win a Group Three at Epsom in June.

Recently the subject of ante-post support for the Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle, Blythe Knight signed off a successful campaign over timber back in April with an impressive win at the Aintree Festival.

Quinn said: 'He's fine at the moment and we'll probably next see him in the Fighting Fifth.

'We've given him an easy time after the Flat and he progressed well over hurdles last season. He's got to do it again now, but you never know.

'If he doesn't do any more for us he will already have done plenty, but I'd hope he can do a bit over the jumps yet.'

Blythe Knight is currently as short as 14-1 for the Champion Hurdle next March.
