LOI GETS CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH

Hors La Loi III is still a possible runner in next month`s Smurfit Champion Hurdle even though vets have failed to find an explanation for the horse`s two below-par runs this season.

Paul Green`s hurdler has been undergoing tests at the Animal Health Trust after being pulled up in each of his last two outings.

'I wish I could tell you what the problem was with him - we still don`t know,' said baffled trainer James Fanshawe today.

'He`s been on the treadmill at the Animal Health Trust and was given an extensive work-out. They`ve given him a clean bill of health.

'We`re still aiming to run him in the Champion Hurdle though we could do with the ground drying out.'

There is a slight chance that Hors La Loi III will have a prep run at Wincanton on Thursday in the Axminster Hurdle, a race he won 12 months ago en route to Cheltenham.

'The Wincanton race looks the only possibility before the Champion and he will probably be entered for it,' said Fanshawe.

'But I need to discuss things with the owner and it may be that he will go to Cheltenham without another run.'
