The Jessica Harrington-trained Lady Patrona got off the mark on her fourth start when taking the Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden at Sligo.

Well away under jockey Keithen Kennedy, the 1/1f defied a wide draw to sit second in the initial stages of the six-furlong contest.

Pushed along to challenge leader Tango Club entering the straight, the market leader led over a furlong out, keeping on well to prevail by a length from Emotional Hedging

Keithen Kennedy reported: "She works very nicely at home and was only getting her conditions today, she wants a bit of slow ground.

"Her three runs were in good company, and the form has been working out well.

"She's still learning about racing but did it very easily, pinged the gates and travelled around well. She wasn't doing a lot when she got to the front and it took me a while to pull her up, she did another circuit!

"She's plenty quick, but I think she will stay further."
