Lambe and Thornton treble up in Stratford

Fresh from his winner (Natal) in Galway on Tuesday night, James ‘Jimmy’ Lambe combined with Robert ‘Choc’ Thornton to record a treble in Stratford on Thursday afternoon at odds of 92/1.

Their first winner came in the opening contest, where the odds on shot High Gales justified his 4/11 favouritism running out a convincing 9 length winner.

The pair doubled up in the fifth race on the card where the former Midlands National winner Trotsky made it two from two in England for his new owners the Platinum Starlight Syndicate. The 11 year old former Dessie Hughes inmate made all in the 2m 4f Handicap Chase to record a comfortable 3 ½ length win at 15/2.

The treble was complete for the pair in the last race on the card, the second division of the 2m 3f maiden hurdle, as Bannville just got up on the line to win by a head at 7/1.
