Langtry likely to miss Guineas

Aidan O'Brien has warned Lillie Langtry is highly unlikely to be in the line-up for the Stan James 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.

The filly suffered a fractured knee at the Breeders' Cup in Santa Anita and while she will make it back to the racecourse, it probably won't be in time for the first fillies' Classic.

"We're hoping she's going to be back but I'm not sure she's going to be back in time for the Guineas," O'Brien told At The Races.

"We're hoping to have her back mid-season or the second-half of the season. She's done well and is in light exercise and it's so far so good but I wouldn't be sure she'd be back for the Guineas."
