Paul Nolan's stable star Latest Exhibition has suffered a fatal injury.
The eight-year-old gelding reverted back to hurdles to contest the Grade 1 Hatton's Grace in Fairyhouse yesterday but was pulled up by Bryan Cooper before the second last.
Nolan tweeted: "It is with deep sadness to say we have unfortunately lost Latest Exhibition due to injury, he was the star of our yard, we & his owners were very lucky to enjoy some great days with him."
He was a Grade One winner over hurdles at Leopardstown in February last year before losing out by a neck to Monkfish in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham the following month.
Upon switching to fences, he also took the runner-up berth behind old rival Monkfish in a pair of Grade Ones in Leopardstown last Christmas and at the same track in February.
On his penultimate start, he finished fourth in this year's Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse.
He won five, and was runner-up in six, of his 13 races and earned over €240,000.
