Legendary Lunch camp eye Railway Stakes The Railway Stakes at the Curragh could be on the agenda for Legendary Lunch after he held off the late surge of Danielsflyer to claim victory in Epsom's Investec Woodcote Stakes. A winner on his Windsor debut before being turned over at long odds-on at the same venue next time, Legendary Lunch was a 5-2 joint-favourite for the opener on Oaks day. The chestnut colt was keen early on, but was given a nice lead into the straight and moved up to challenge for the lead with two furlongs to run. Richard Hannon's charge looked set to win decisively after taking a couple of lengths out of the field, but the David Barron-trained Danielsflyer finished with a wet sail and there was just a nose between them at the line. Sea Of Snow was third, with the other joint-favourite Tibr a shade disappointing in fifth. Winning jockey Pat Dobbs said: "This horse has loads of speed and is a quick learner." Hannon said: "I loved the way he travelled but Dobbsy thought, by his own admission, he probably got there a bit too soon, which I don't think he could help. "We've always liked this horse a lot, but last time he didn't scope very well afterwards. "We've always thought he was a Royal Ascot type but whether that will come too soon I don't know. "It was like having two winners as I thought he was beaten there. "We'll enter for the Norfolk and Coventry, but we could wait for the July Stakes (at Newmarket). "We'll also look at the Railway Stakes at the Curragh. He's a nice horse, we always thought he was. "We gave him a piece of work on Tuesday and he worked better than ever so we thought we'd come here."
