The Northern Region Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association held its annual racing and breeding awards evening on Thursday night at the Seagoe Hotel, Portadown, Co Armagh.

Liam Lennon from Newry, Co Down, collected the Leading Point to Point Trainer Award having sent out 13 winners last season including Tammy’s Hill, who missed the Cheltenham Festival for the past two years due to minor problems and will have the Foxhunters as his major target next March.

Andrew Oliver from Caledon, County Tyrone, claimed the Leading Ulster Trainer Award. Among his winners were First Cornerstone in the Group 2 Futurity Stakes last year and Punch Your Weight winner of last season's Irish Cambridgeshire.

The evening included a fundraiser for the Jonjo Bright Trust Fund.
