Envoi Allen could put his unbeaten record on the line in the Goffs Future Stars Irish National Hunt Flat Race at Leopardstown next month.

Bought for £400,000 after winning an Irish point-to-point last February, the Cheveley Park Stud-owned gelding made an impressive debut under rules at Fairyhouse in early December before following up with a dominant display in a Listed contest at Navan.

Trainer Gordon Elliott has suggested his charge will not run in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival in March as he views him as more of a long-term prospect.

However, speaking at the launch of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown, the Cullentra handler revealed he is considering stepping his charge up to Grade Two level at the Foxrock track on February 2.

“He could run in the bumper on the first day (of the Dublin Racing Festival) if we got a bit of rain,” said Elliott.

“He’s in very good form at home. Obviously I would like to see a bit of rain for him to run.

“He’s a good horse — he’s a horse for the future.”
