Light sparkles in final work-out

Fantastic Light delighted Godolphin as he completed his King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes preparation with a gallop in Newmarket today.

He worked over five furlongs on the Limekilns short gallop with Broche, who is a possible pacemaker at Ascot on Saturday.

And trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: 'I was very pleased with the way Fantastic Light worked and everything is ready for Saturday.'

The five-year-old is William Hill`s 9-4 second favourite for his clash with dual Derby winner Galileo in the King George, in which he chased home Montjeu last year, having scored an impressive victory in the Prince Of Wales`s Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

'That run was a career best performance and he will have to reproduce that effort at least in order to have a realistic chance of winning on Saturday,' Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford added on the organisation`s website.

'He is giving us all the right signals. Fantastic Light has improved since last year. He isolder and stronger and has very effective acceleration at the end of a true-run race.'

Godolphin will use a pacemaker in an attempt to ensure a strong pace - either Broche or Give The Slip who performed the task in the Prince Of Wales.
