Lilian Bland continues good recent form Lilian Bland’s (7/1) exciting recent form continued today, as she registered a third success from her last five starts in landing Wexford’s Forth Mountain Trails Mares Handicap Hurdle for owner/trainer Niall Hennessy. Successful twice in March at Navan and Downpatrick, the nine-year-old was challenging when taking a second-last fence fall at Tramore last month and today, reverting to hurdles under regular rider Richie Deegan, scored in determined fashion, when beating Rose Boum by 1.25 lengths. Cappoquin-based Hennessy stated "she's unbelievable and was very tough again today. We took the hood off her recently, as I felt other horses were joining her before she knew they were there. Now she hears them coming, that's my theory anyway! "She was fine after her Tramore fall, but was on the go a long time so we gave her a break: she normally runs nearly every fortnight. We are able to put a programme together over hurdles and fences and she'll continue to mix it.” Quotes from Donal Murphy
