The Willie Mullins trained Linford followed up his debut win by making it two-from-two in the concluding Roscommon Livestock Mart (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.

Off the mark at the first attempt in Killarney last month, the Dr. Peter Fitzgerald owned gelding was sent off 11/10f to double up.

Always prominent under Patrick Mullins, the four-year-old led over a furlong out, staying on strongly to win by five-and-a-half lengths.

Patrick Mullins said: “He’s a bit lazy but he always brings out his best at the end of the race.

“He doesn’t flash at home and who knows how good he could be.

“It was tough work off a real strong gallop. I probably sat too close to it but I couldn’t let Declan Queally’s mare get away.

“I thought he did well to cover her and still withhold the one that came from behind him. I think you could upgrade the performance, in my book.

“We’ll see if he goes for the winners bumper in Galway or whether he goes jumping.”
