Tracey Collins is hoping Captain Joy can shrug off a rough trip to Britain in Saturday's Ladbrokes Conditions Stakes at Lingfield.

The six-year-old was a winner at Dundalk in both October and December last year and Collins would like to get her charge qualified for the All Weather Championships Finals back at Lingfield on Good Friday.

Victory in this mile event would guarantee Captain Joy a place on the April 3 card but Collins admits his journey from Ireland has not been ideal.

She said: "He left home well and in good form, but he didn't have a great trip over and I'm just hoping it hasn't taken too much out of him.

"It was a rough sailing and from leaving the yard to getting to Lingfield it took 12 or 13 hours, which isn't ideal.

"It only takes him an hour and a half to get to Dundalk and it does make a difference.

"Our main aim is to get him qualified for the big meeting over Easter, so we'll see how he goes on Saturday."

Captain Joy is one of seven runners along with Alfred Hutchinson, Big Baz, Bravo Echo, Dastarhon, Linton and Pool House.
