Star Links recorded his twelfth career success at Wolverhampton this afternoon, taking the coral.co.uk Best Odds Guaranteed On Racing Handicap for his Cavan based trainer Shane Donohoe.

The eight-year-old son of Bernstein won over the course and distance in January, but he was no match for Chookie Royale on his next start, again at Wolves, finishing seven lengths back in second.

Sent off a 5/1 chance today, the bay gelding was drawn on the rail and he was settled behind the leaders by Luke Morris.

He moved into second, and went in pursuit of the leader as they turned into the straight, hitting the front over a furlong out, and staying on well from there to score by a length and a quarter.

Stasio finished second at 13/2, while Big Daz, the even money favourite, was a further two and a quarter lengths back in third.

Star Links, who was purchased by Donohoe for 8,000 Guineas at Tattersalls in 2009, has now won eight times over the course and distance at Wolverhampton.
