History-making Snellen's next target for Gavin Cromwell is a Listed race in Bahrain.

She became the first Irish-trained winner in Bahrain when she won the Al Muharraq Cup under Gary Carroll last month.

She reappeared last Friday in the Al Dana Cup and ran fifth, beaten two lengths, over the same 10-furlong trip.

Cromwell said: “She ran well, the penalty probably took it’s toll on her.

“She finished fifth and there was very little between the second, third, fourth and fifth. The winner was a good winner.

“All being well, she’ll go for a Listed race at the end of the month. If the same field shows up, she’ll be far better off with them. She came out of the race fine.”

Snellen is a former Royal Ascot winner in the Chesham Stakes of 2023.
