Littlebiggie got off the mark at the third time of asking over fences, in the P&D Lydon Mares Beginners Chase at Ballinrobe.

The Ray Hackett-trained mare had been runner-up in both chase starts before today and went to post 3/1 second choice in the market behind odds-on shot Mozzies Sister

She jumped up to join that rival four from home and had the advantage at the next as her rival got in tight.

The Ask mare asserted after the second last and despite getting close herself over the last she had plenty up her sleeve to record a six-and-a-half length success under Dan King.

King said:- "She jumped really well and jumped her way into the race. She needed to be tough as well, it's quite testing ground out there, and she was.

"I was told to take my time a little today, she normally leads and can be quite keen and a bit revved, but once I jumped two or three she spat it out lovely and relaxed.

"It's a spare ride. Liam Quinlan was supposed to ride and has done all the schooling on her, so it's unfortunate for him but I'm delighted to have won on her."
