Lough Ferrib wins at Listowel again

From Down Royal for a flat race on Friday night to Listowel the following Thursday for a three mile handicap hurdle, it all comes alike to Lough Ferrib as he achieved that feat in the Devon Inn Hotel Handicap Hurdle with a convincing success under Davy Condon, deputising for Davy Russell.

John Hassett 's charge arrived with his challenge travelling well in the straight and once asked to pick up his effort away from the last by Condon, the nine-year-old went on to beat Molly's Boy and favourite Coolavanny Gaffer (travelled well to deliver his challenge too) by a length and a head.

Condon said: "The false start was no help to me as John told me to get him switched off. He pulled so hard the whole way that I thought he'd never get home on his first run over the trip. He is tough and gutsy though so it was brilliant.

“Davy (Russell) got a nasty fall in the beginners chase. He has gone to hospital to be treated."
