Lucky Viv (14/1) registered a second success today, as the seven-year-old mare landed Punchestown’s Ladbrokes "Gaffer Of All Accas" Mares Handicap Hurdle for owner/trainer Michael ‘Tricksy’ Barry and jockey John Shinnick.

The seven-year-old had previously landed a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle last August and today the 101-rated mare improved from mid-field to eventually score by two lengths from Betty Dutton

Fermoy-based Barry reported “I didn’t think the ground would suit her at all, so I was a bit surprised. I thought it might be too tacky for her, but she seemed to stay the trip well.

“She ran in a few point-to-points, and we might go over fences with her.”
