Fergal Lynch was back in the winner's enclosure on UK soil for the first time in six years when he steered Go Far home at Doncaster.

The 36-year-old got a fine tune out of the 12-1 chance, trained by Alan Bailey, as he drove the four-year-old to victory by three-quarters of a length in the Betfred Exclusive Competitions Facebook And Twitter Handicap.

It was only last week that the British Horseracing Authority lifted the restrictions placed on Lynch, who admitted stopping Bond City from winning at Ripon in August 2004.

Absent from the British scene since August 2008, Lynch spent time riding in America and has been based in Ireland since being granted a licence by the Irish Turf Club in 2012.

The jockey had his first ride back in the UK at Ayr on Monday when fourth on Mr Bounty, owned by his father and trained by Michael O'Callaghan.

Lynch had been out of luck in three previous rides on Town Moor before Go Far proved to be a successful fourth and final mount on the card.
