Boyfriend Brian made it two from two as he took the opener at Killarney, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race.

An impressive winner on his debut at Bellewstown, the son of Big Bad Bob was available at 2/1 last night, before he eventually went off the 6/4 favourite in the colours of owners Anamoine Limited.

Settled in a close second by Colin Keane, he was pushed along to lead from the two furlong pole. He was ridden inside the final furlong, and kept on well to score by three parts of a length. Eagle Spirit (15/8) also kept on well to finish second under Donnacha O'Brien for his brother Joseph, while the front-running Birds Of Prey (16/1) was a neck back in third under Declan McDonogh for John Oxx.

Assistant trainer Shane Lyons said afterwards: "We didn't want to run him back too soon from Bellewstown but this race presented itself and we had to take it but we're delighted he's after getting two on the bounce.

"We'll be able to back off him now and give him a good break and he'll be up to Listed class now - that's what he'll be doing once he fills into himself.

"He had the class the last day, in not a great race, to win on soft ground but this is the ground that our horses like."

Ger Lyons was recording his fifth winner in the space of four days. He was on the mark with Elusive Heights at Navan on Friday, before recording a treble at Navan yesterday.
