Ger Lyons is considering a two-pronged assault on the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday, although final running plans are yet to be finalised.

Convergence is set to take his chance, but stablemate Bertie Le Belge is not yet a certain starter.

Lyons said: "Two of my horses are in the Beresford Stakes - Convergence will definitely run, but there is a question mark about Bertie Le Belge running at the minute as I've to discuss plans with Patrick Cooper (owner's racing manager)."

Winner of this first two outings, Bertie Le Belge, who is a son of Big Bad Bob, lost little in defeat to the highly-regarded John F Kennedy on Irish Champions Weekend, staying on to be fourth.

Convergence, meanwhile, flooed the long odds-on East India in the Coolmore Canford Cliffs Stakes at Tipperary and Lyons believes there was an excuse for his last of five finish in the Futurity Stakes.

The trainer said: "I'd draw a line through Convergence's last run at the Curragh, as he needs to be dropped in and hated being in front.

"I could have run him on Champions Weekend, but decided to give him the extra two weeks."
