MACGEORGE IS BUSINESS RIVAL

Macgeorge is set to take on Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite See More Business in Saturday's Aon Chase at Newbury, it was revealed today.

The news that last season's Martell Cup winner is likely to take part is a boost for the inaugural running of the £50,000 event, which looks like cutting up due to the presence of Paul Nicholls' charge.

"The plan at the moment is to run him," said Macgeorge's trainer Richard Lee. "He worked this morning and went very well.

"I just hope the ground isn't too wet for him - I want good ground rather than soft ground."

Saturday's race will help Lee decide on the gelding's target at the Cheltenham Festival, with the Gold Cup and the William Hill National Hunt Handicap Chase, in which he finished fourth last year, the options.

"Saturday will tell us whether to go for the Gold Cup or for the handicap," Lee said.

"If we're good enough for the Gold Cup we'll find out."
