MAUDE ITCHING TO RETURN

Chris Maude revealed today that he is hoping to return to race-riding by the start of next month at the latest.

The British jockey has been sidelined since January 15th when he broke his collarbone in a fall at Plumpton.

Maude underwent an operation on the injury at Cheltenham General Hospital and must wait for the all-clear from that before he can make his comeback.

He said today: 'Hopefully I`ll be back in about 10 days - I want to be back for March 1st.

'I broke my collarbone in four places and it came out through the skin so I`ve had 12 screws and a plate put in.

'It`s annoying because I`ve just got to wait for all the little bits to knit together before I can actually ride again - that`s why it is taking a long time.

'Hopefully, I`ll be riding out soon.'
