The pregnant Madam Mo gained an all-important win when just getting home by a neck in the mile-and-a-half maiden at Sligo.

Patrick Prendergast's charge had been placed on seven previous occasions and had to dig deep to gain her breakthrough success.

Connor King produced her to lead a furlong out but front-runner Well Hello rallied well to give the 5/6 favourite a scare.

“She's in foal to Holy Roman Emperor so that was very important and she deserved her day,” said Prendergast.

“If she gets dropped, it's unusual when they win but it does happen, or is left alone we might try a handicap.

“Obviously we're against the clock with the 120 days and she's less than that now, but really that's job done.

“She's very attractive but has been hard to win with.”
