Magic Dancer camp looking to heavens Ground conditions are likely to determine whether Magic Dancer runs in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh on June 27. Ralph Beckett also has the option of going to Royal Ascot with the lightly raced colt, who advertised his credentials when second to the Aidan O'Brien-trained Kilimanjaro in the Lingfield Derby Trial last time out. That was the son of Norse Dancer's first outing of the campaign, having had two starts at Windsor as a juvenile last October, winning a maiden on his second run. The trainer said: "He's in the King Edward VII (at Royal Ascot) and the Irish Derby. Ground will dictate where he goes. He wants a bit of cut in the ground. He's a nice horse." Beckett would love to see rain falling next week to aid Bellajeu's cause in the Investec Oaks at Epsom. The Kimpton trainer has won the fillies' Classic twice, with Look Here in 2008 and Talent two years ago, and is likely to go for a third success with the daughter of Montjeu. Bellajeu booked her place when finishing second to Toujours L'Amour in the Lingfield Oaks Trial, and cut in the ground is thought likely to help her chance. Beckett said: "She's done well since Lingfield. All we need is a bit of rain to help us out and I'm not sure that's going to come."
