Makin Facing Ebor Dilemma Australian owner Paul Makin admits he is in the dark about which of his two runners holds the best chance in Wednesday's totesport Ebor at York.Makin holds a strong hand with both ante-post favourite Glistening and the well-supported Soulacroix set to run in his colours in the mile-and-six-furlong feature.Soulacroix ran out an impressive winner of the Queen Mother's Cup on the Knavesmire earlier this year, while Glistening has reached the frame behind Young Mick on his last two starts. And while bookmakers are generally in agreement in placing Glistening at the head of the betting for the #200,000 test, Makin has stressed that everyone closely associated with the duo is finding it hard to split them.'There is a bit of debate in the yard about which horse goes best,' he explained to At The Races.'(Trainer) Luca Cumani is slightly in favour of Glistening but his wife Sara is definitely behind Soulacroix.'I believe the best quality horse of the two is Glistening, but whether he's a streetfighter or not is another matter,' he added.'He's the sort who needs time to wind up in his races, but he keeps plugging to the line.'Makin was also able to confirm jockey plans for his pair and voiced his desire that both horses be seen in action in Australia in another valuable handicap.'Jamie Spencer will ride Glistening and Kerrin McEvoy will be on board Soulacroix,' he said.'Ideally I'd like both horses to go for the Melbourne Cup, providing they qualify for the race.'At total of 37 horses were left in the Ebor at Thursday's confirmation stage.(C) PA Sport
