Plenty held chances in the mares' (Ladies Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Roscommon but it was Pursecco who forged on best to take the spoils.

She hunted down Cant Wait in the final quarter of a mile and was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong.

She stayed on stoutly for Jane Mangan to repel second-placed Appy Days (20/1) and the fast-finishing 7/2 shot Frazel Express

Successful trainer Prunella Dobbs said: "She's a lovely mare but got wound up by the crowds at Tramore the last day. She has settled today and Jane walked the track and it was a huge help being on the outside. It was very good thinking to have her on the right place.

"She'll go back over hurdles next.

"She is owned by a very enthusiastic syndicate who are fishermen and shooting people - hence the Fin & Feather Syndicate."

The winner sported a hood for the first time and came in at 5/1 having been 8/1 in the morning.

Pursecco had been placed in one of her two maiden hurdle runs and was also placed once in two bumper outings before this evening.
