Jockey Kevin Manning has lodged an appeal with the Turf Club against the one day suspension imposed by the stewards at Roscommon yesterday evening.

Manning was adjudged to have been in breach of Regulation 10 3 (e) in that he used his whip other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters when riding Escondida to finish second in the opening EBF Auction Maiden won by Henshaw.

The Roscommon stewards took the rider's record into account and considered the fact that is was approximately eleven months since his last breach of the whip regulations before handing out the suspension.
