Kevin Manning recorded a double at Dundalk tonight after Elusive Approach kept on gamely to open her account in the 45-65 handicap.

Jim Bolger 's daughter of New Approach was produced to lead under two furlongs out in the seven furlong contest and stuck on well in the closing stages.

The well-backed Atlas (6/1 in morning into 2/1 favourite) gave chase inside the final furlong but could only get within three-parts-of-a-length.

The winner had been placed on her last visit to the track and Manning was back on board tonight after apprentices had taken the mount on her last four runs.

Travelling head lad Ger Flynn said:- "She's been knocking on the door, is a consistent filly and deserved that. They went a million miles an hour early on and she settled well."

The race was delayed by eight minutes with Mistress Marinrio getting reshod at the start.
