Connections have decided to campaign Moscow Mannon over hurdles this season having originally toyed with the idea of sending the classy bumper performer straight over fences.

Brian Hamilton's charge finished fourth at Cheltenham having been a leading fancy for the champion contest following three bumper successes last season.

The meeting at Down Royal in November, which features the JN Wine.com Champion Chase, is set to be the first port of call for the Moscow Society gelding.

“He's tipping away and we'll try to have him ready for Down Royal,” said Hamilton.

“We thought about running him over fences but it's a bit unfair as he hasn't run in point-to-points or anything.

“He'll start over hurdles and we'll see what way he goes afterwards.”
