Maontri will bid for a quickfire double at Dundalk as she tackles the Floodlit Friday Nights Rated Race.

The seven-year-old ran out a seven-and-a-half-length winner over a mile at the track last Friday and she will be racing off a 15lb higher mark this time.

Trainer Matty Tynan admits her hike in the weights was one of the factors in turning Maontri out again so quickly.

He said: "She's in great form but we were disappointed with the rise in weights she got after her win the last day and we hadn't much choice but to run her here.

"We had her in the pool for most of the week and she's nice and fresh. We'll try to dictate the pace with her again as she's normally quick out of the stalls and also won from stall eight the last time.

"I think she has enough pace for seven (furlongs) and I'm hopeful of a good run."

Cool Athlete won at Dundalk last September but struggled to make his mark in three subsequent starts.

Trainer David Marnane said: "He's in good form and has a good draw. He always runs a good race and is a solid performance but met a few traffic problems the last day.

"It looks a very competitive race though but hopefully he'll be in the mix."

Pat Martin believes Reckless Lad is more than capable of making the frame after finishing fourth at the track last week.

"He has an outside draw and while that might not be such a disadvantage to him, he is 4lb wrong at the weights," he said.

"I thought the race might cut up more but he's in really good form and might not be in a month's time, so we decided to take our chance.

"He wasn't beaten far (a length and a quarter) the last day but would have been suited by a stronger pace; I'm hopeful of picking up some prizemoney with him."

Ger Keane thinks The Black Devil will struggle to defy his current mark of 68.

He said: "He was only beaten half a length on his last run and is a consistent old horse but I think is the handicapper has him."
