Marmeladova scores for Lee and Condon Marmeladova (12/1) caused a minor upset to easily win Ballinrobe’s SIS, Supporting Irish Racing Maiden, scoring for owners Readsland Racing, jockey Billy Lee and trainer Ken Condon. Having debuted as a four-year-old last July, the daughter of Inns Of Court today made her seasonal reappearance on her first outing since October and having travelled well in mid-field, quickened clear of her rivals in the home straight to score by 6.5 lengths from Mano Chicago . Early jockeys’ championship-leader Lee commented “the race worked out lovely, they went a nice gallop and I was happy where I was, just riding her to come home. We'd have been happy to be placed but she came alive and picked up well around the bottom bend. "Being Ballinrobe, I said to Ken that I'd be positive but looking back at her races, her best runs were when she was dropped in. There's no reason now to think that she won't be competitive in a handicap." Quotes from Mark Nunan
