Boom The Groom has a number of potential options after his fine run in defeat in last weekend's Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh.

David Marnane's colt made an impressive debut at Fairyhouse in mid-July, but disappointed when stepped up in trip and class at Tipperary.

He has bounced back since, however, finishing third in the Curragh Stakes before placing fourth behind the exciting Great White Eagle at Group Three level on Sunday.

Marnane said: "He ran a good, solid race and he's definitely still improving.

"It probably didn't help him that he raced on his own towards the near side, everything happened away from him, but I was really happy with how brave he was and how he quickened up.

"I'd say it was a pretty good Group Three, so we'll see where we go from here. Plans are fluid at the moment.

"There is a Listed race at the Curragh in about four weeks, there is the Mercury Stakes as well (at Dundalk) and he'll probably also get an entry in the Horses in Training sale.

"We only paid £22,000 for him, he's rated 100 now and is probably worth a few quid.

"I'm not under any pressure to sell, but if the right offer came along we'd have to look at it."
