Martin to rely on Mourne

Mourne Rambler rather than Psycho is set to represent trainer Tony Martin in The Ladbroke at Ascot on Saturday.

The pair are among the six-day acceptors for the weekend showpiece and the handler has yet to make a final decision on their participation.

"I'll give them a spin in the morning but at the moment I'd say it's more likely to be Mourne Rambler that's going over," said the County Meath handler.

"The softer the ground the better. If there's good in the ground we won't be going.

"Psycho is more likely to wait for the Pierse Hurdle, but we'll make up our minds by Wednesday."

The Paul Nolan-trained Cuan Na Grai, winner of the 2006 Galway Hurdle, is also among the entries.

David Pipe's Ashkazar has been left at the top of the weights.

The four-year-old has not been seen in action since the Cheltenham Festival back in March and is one of three entries for the Nicholashayne handler along with Acambo and Mamlook.

Greatwood Hurdle hero Numide could take his chance for Gary Moore, while Aigle d'Or and Sentry Duty are among a strong team for Nicky Henderson.

Five Dream, Khyber Kim and Squadron are also interesting contenders among the 33 that remain.
