Mashhoor reeled in clear-running Timeless Soul on his way to success in the extended 1m2f handicap for three-year-olds plus.

The 9/2 shot was driven by Ben Coen to get on terms with Timeless Soul in the final furlong. The pair grabbed a narrow lead with 150 yards to travel, but had to see off Timourid (13/2) by half a length. Giladah made headway for third, a further head back, at 12/1.

Johnny Murtagh said: "He ran very well in the Lincoln when he stayed on and was only beaten five lengths (in 15th), but the ground was probably too soft. He came home a bit stiff and sore after Royal Ascot last year and today's slow-side-of-good ground is perfect for him.

"It was always the plan to come here and Ben gave him a great ride and it worked out beautifully. He had to be brave and we might have to step up to Listed class now but he is a nice horse who is going the right way."

He added: "it is a great win as he is owned by a Meath syndicate and Tommy Dowd is part of it - he was a hero of mine and captained the team to an All-Ireland win. They are great supporters of mine and I'm thrilled."
