Maxwell undergoes operation Conor Maxwell, who had a nasty fall from Macidoni at Clonmel on Sunday, was operated on this morning in St. James Hospital in Dublin. The in-form rider sustained a badly broken nose and a fractured cheekbone in the incident which occurred at the third flight of hurdles. Maxwell's agent Niall Cronin reports: "I have spoken to Conor this afternoon and he is in good spirits. He is due to see a specialist towards the end of the week and is keen to be back riding as soon as possible as he has a number of good rides over the coming weeks." Tom Doyle is the latest jockey to avail of the services of Cronin having joined the agent last weekend.
