May return for Pleascach Jim Bolger is looking forward to having another crack at the colts with Pleascach at some point this season. The daughter of Teofilo was one of the top of her sex last term, winning the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh and the Yorkshire Oaks at York. She also showed she could be competitive against the cream of colts and geldings by finishing fourth to Golden Horn in the Irish Champion Stakes. "She is back in training and should be versatile between a mile-and-a-quarter and a mile-and-a-half," Bolger told www.attheraces.com. "She was one of a very good crop of three-year-old fillies last season and you'd have to hope she'll stand up well again this year. "She is likely to return in May and while fillies' races will be targeted, we'd probably take on the colts at some stage, too." The Coolcullen handler is keen to win a Group One race with another star filly Lucida. Winner of the Group Two Rockfel Stakes as a two-year-old, she could not add to her tally in 2015 but was second in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and third in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. She has not raced since not being beaten far when sixth in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting behind Amazing Maria when taking on older fillies. "Winning a Group One will be the big target with her this year, as she was unlucky not to win one last year," said Bolger. "We learned in her first couple of runs last season that she needed to be held up until the last minute and we probably then overdid it in the Falmouth Stakes, as when the gap appeared, Kevin (Manning) decided to wait in order to carry out my orders to deliver her late, but the gap then closed when he wanted it. "She picked up a hairline fracture after that which ruled her out for the rest of the season, but she's in good shape now. "A mile looks to be her trip, but I wouldn't be against trying nine furlongs with her if the opportunity presented itself. She is forward and it won't be too long before she appears."
