McCann aims to Cash The Cheque in Listed company Anthony McCann is eyeing the Listed mares' bumper at Cheltenham's November meeting for Cash The Cheque. His Soldier Of Fortune four-year-old filly won a mares' bumper in Sligo this month by five and a half lengths. That effort was sandwiched by runner-up berths in Cork and Down Royal last Friday after she was collared in the final strides. The trainer said: "She's tough, that was her fourth run. "She had to do the donkey work in Down Royal and was coming back at the winner. "She could go across the water and could be one for the Listed mares' bumper at the Paddy Power meeting at Cheltenham. She deserves a crack at a Listed bumper." Rockstown Girl was a wide-margin winner of a mares' bumper on debut at Roscommon in July and McCann is looking forward to getting her back in action. "I think she could be special," he said. "She could go for the Listed mares' bumper in Gowran Park (in October) or there's a four-year-old winners' bumper in Ballinrobe on Friday fortnight. It depends on the ground. "We haven't seen the best of her yet, she's only had the one run and she did it very impressively. "She's a very nice filly and she wants cut in the ground, she wants soft ground. I think we will see the best of her on winter ground. "About five minutes before weighing out in Roscommon, I was withdrawing her as I was very concerned about the (good) ground. We were lucky and got away with it. "She's a proper two-mile hurdler, I think. She could jump a hurdle when Jonny Moore is back. She'll get another once crack at a bumper anyway and we'll take it from there." His Grace Faraday was well backed before finishing seventh on debut in a Sligo bumper just under a fortnight ago and the trainer expects her to show more on her next start. He said: "She ran very green and there was no pace in the race. Nothing worked out for her. She is a galloping filly. "She will be a totally different filly next day out. She will probably get another two weeks and then we will start winding her up again. Again, she is only a four-year-old."
