Trainer Eoin McCarthy is considering a tilt at the Like A Butterfly Chase at Gowran Park with stable star Shadow Paddy.

Unbeaten in three starts over fences, the six-year-old continued his education when landing a Grade 3 novice chase at Galway last month.

McCarthy said: "Shadow Paddy came back on Saturday following a small break and he came out of his Galway race super.

"I don't want to go 'dipping' to see how good he is and want to be winning with him and giving him experience, but he does want nice ground.

"He will more than likely go to the Like A Butterfly Chase (moved from Tipperary to Gowran, in October) but he also has the option of the Kilbegnet Chase at Roscommon (early October). If Roscommon turned up soft, he would definitely go to Gowran.

"If the weather held up and everything goes to plan, we'd be hoping he could go for the (Grade 1) Drinmore in early December, but only if the ground holds up."
