McConnell and Harvey fire in another through Wonderfulwonderful Wonderfulwonderful (11/4jf) made a successful transition to hurdling in the Thom Plant Hire 3YO Maiden Hurdle at Killarney. The Arizona filly had been placed in four of her six races on the Flat and John McConnell's initiative in switching codes paid immediate dividends. She had her rivals on the stretch after the penultimate obstacle and was nicely clear of Whats New over the last. That rival departed there to leave Wonderfulwonderful to come in by 10 lengths from Urgent Whisper (4/1). There was another 12-length gap back to Sopelana (28/1) in third. She continued a rich vein of form for both McConnell and jockey Alex Harvey. Harvey said: "She is a really likeable filly and was probably the classiest horse in the race, although lacked a previous run over hurdles. Her mind is her biggest asset, was so straightforward, and it was a very easy job for me. "She was quite a natural from day one getting her off the ground schooling at home and is so straightforward. It was a big ask coming here without doing a grass gallop, but she was very good. "She should improve again and is a nice filly." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
