There was a tremendous conclusion to the featured Listed Vincent O'Brien Ruby Stakes at Killarney and a photo revealed that Willie McCreery and Billy Lee had brought up a double courtesy of the Barouche Stud (Ireland) Ltd-owned Erysimum (already a course and distance winner).

McCreery and Lee had been on the mark half-an-hour earlier with Valentana and in the centrepiece of the evening the Arcano three-year-old Erysimum made just about all.

She held on from Marshall Jennings by a short head, and the margins to the next three home, Cailin Mor Colour Blue (McCreerys as well) and Assume were a short head twice and a head.

"She had a break and we brought her back to get her started here. Billy Lee didn't want to run her, put that down, as he said the ground might be a bit quick for her!," revealed McCreery.

"She is all heart and they went a good tempo there and my other filly, Colour Blue, ran a blinder and was beaten three short-heads in fourth.

"She (Erysimum) is my first horse for Barouche Stud and I'm delighted. I'll have to look at a Group 3 now and she'll love a cut in the ground and has all autumn to run."

C.D. Hayes, rider of Flirt trained by David Wachman, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got a bump leaving the stalls.
