McCreery eyes Oaks Trial for Liquid Amber Liquid Amber is likely to be stepped up in trip after finishing down the field in the Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, with a race at Naas in the frame. Willie McCreery’s filly was a Group Three winner over a mile at two, and while she had to settle for ninth place on her seasonal return, she was not disgraced. “She’s been good since Newmarket, we might just go a little bit further with her, maybe,” said McCreery. “Next time out we might look at the Oaks Trial at Naas for her (June 27). “She’s getting stronger, she’s putting on weight every week. “Her pedigree suggests she should improve with age and I’d be hoping she’ll do the same. “She seems to handle most ground she was just caught off her beat in the Guineas, it was very sharp and she was very inexperienced, but hopefully she’ll come on from that and will have learned a lot.”
