McCreery eyes further North American ventures for Jancis Trainer Willie McCreery is considering another trip to North America with Jancis following the mares excellent third placed finish in the Grade 1 E. P. Taylor Stakes (Fillies & Mares) at Woodbine on Saturday. A Group 2 winner at Newmarket earlier in the season, the five-year-old picked up valuable black type at the highest level when narrowly denied in Canada. McCreery said: “She ran a huge race. I’m still not so sure in my own head whether she really sees out the mile-and-two in that grade. “I thought she came to win her race, and probably hit the front about 100 yards from the line, and she was outstayed on the outside by See The Fire, who has a lot of Group 1 placed form. “We’ve Grade 1 placing now which was the whole reason for going there. Her travel over and back was paid for so what more could you want. We’ll try again. “There are more American races for her. She needs that quick ground, she loves it, and she actually loved the experience of being over there for the week beforehand.
