McCreery strikes at Wolverhampton

The Willie McCreery trained Liberty Island caused a 16/1 shock when taking the opening race at this evening's meeting at Wolverhampton.

The gelded son of Statue Of Liberty got up in the closing stages of the five furlong handicap to record his third victory of the season.

Liberty Island won races at Down Royal and Dundalk during the summer months.
