McLoughlin eyes Fairyhouse for Avellino Trainer Dermot McLoughlin has identified an opportunity at Fairyhouse for Avellino following her runaway victory at Down Royal on St Stephen's Day. A 40-1 runner-up to the exciting Lucky Pass on her racecourse debut at Fairyhouse in November, Avellino proved there was no fluke about that effort when pulling 13 lengths clear on her second start and she is now being prepared for a return to County Meath. McLoughlin also had news of Los Amigos, who ran a fair race on his debut for the yard when 10th in the ultra-competitive Paddy Power Chase over Christmas. "There is not a bother on Avellino. She is in great form since Down Royal and she came out of the race very well," said the trainer. "She will probably run now in a mares' winners' of one in Fairyhouse towards the end of the month. "Los Amigos will go for the Leopardstown Chase (now the Coral.ie Handicap Chase) on Sunday week. "He just tired in the Paddy Power."
