Danny McLoughlin has classic aspirations for Magny Cours who won on debut this year and signed off the campaign when placed in a Group 3 at Chantilly.

The Awtaad filly showed a good attitude when successful on her first start at Listowel in June and was subsequently placed on a number of occasions including a Listed race at Naas and when beating all bar Alparslan in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes at the Curragh on Champions Weekend.

McLoughlin’s charge travelled to Chantilly in October for her final start and again filled the runner-up spot behind Half Sovereign in the Group 3 Prix Miesque.

That winner was sold for €2.6m in Arqana on Saturday.

“There's probably more options over seven furlongs or a mile,” said McLoughlin.

"That race (Group 3 Prix Miesque) that she was second in in France has been a good indicator to the French Guineas through the years. It was seven (furlongs) and she learned how to race.

“She was very relaxed the last day which was good to see. We'll try and stretch her maybe to the mile.

The Curragh trainer added, “Now she will still have to take another few steps up, but she's entered in the French Guineas. She's in the Irish Guineas as well.

“We might give her an entry for the German Guineas as well. Once that closes, there's no supplementary stage.

“The plan will be to go to Leopardstown (for a Guineas Trial). It makes the winter short looking forward to a horse like that!”

McLoughlin only took out a licence last year and has already trained 11 winners.
