McLoughlin provides update on Group 3 winner Syzygy Recent Gowran Park Group 3 winner Syzygy looks set to finish for the season and return to owner's Yeomanstown Stud , Danny McLoughlin has revealed. The 24-year-old trainer from County Kildare had a double at Navan yesterday, where the Guy O’Callaghan-owned Layla Belle got off the mark on her second time of asking, and a quick-fire double was achieved by the trainer for the first time, as a horse in his own colours Lilli's Angel, bred by his uncle Paddy McLoughlin, was victorious in the race after Layla Belle. Speaking after the race, McLoughlin confirmed we may have seen the end of Group 3 winner Syzygy, who has made a remarkable rise through the ranks, winning off a mark in the Curragh off 54 before a last-gasp Group success in Gowran Park on her latest outing. McLoughlin said: "I would have been tempted with the ground softening (to race again) but, as far as I know, I think that is her for now. "I think that is her finished now for the breeding shed. She was bought by Yeomanstown Stud, so she will be going back there. "She has been brilliant to us, as have all the horses. "It is magical for a filly to progress the way she did."
