The J.P. McManus owned Bay Hill justified 11/4 favouritism to win the Mossie Lane Farm Buildings Handicap at Killarney today, winning for trainer Christy Roche and jockey Fran Berry.

Berry had the son of Verglas to the fore throughout and in the end the grey gelding had three parts of a length to spare over Kodiac's Back

Roche wasn't present but Frank Berry, racing manager for McManus and father of the winning jockey later stated "he was workmanlike but got there and in fairness he battled away once the other horse came to him. We'll probably find another flat race for him before going back over hurdles. He doesn't mind the ground."
