McNamara on Windermere in Hennessy Lord Windermere, a leading fancy for the Hennessy Gold Cup, will have a change of rider at Newbury on Saturday. The winner of the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last March was due to be ridden by Davy Russell but, with the jockey of choice suspended, amateur Robbie McNamara has come in for the ride. Trainer Jim Culloty is delighted to have McNamara on board as he partnered the horse when a close third to Boston Bob in the Dr PJ Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown in February. Culloty told At The Races: "He's a top-class rider in his own right. If he wasn't heavy he'd be a very good professional. In view of the fact that, at the moment, we have 11st 8lb it looks like he'll have no lead on his back. "Robbie can get to do that weight, just, and I'm very happy to have him. He's in good form. I'm very happy with him, he's schooled well. He's a decent horse and I don't think the handicapper has been over hard on him." Lord Windermere has attracted steady support throughout the week as he looks to maintain the good recent record of RSA Chase winners and is currently a general 8/1 chance.
